I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier when I was writing about my 3rd brother's birthday this afternoon and I am headed to bed but just had to post one more thing about Spencer W. (he was named after Spencer W. Kimball - how cool is that)
Tonight as I was putting Annie Kate to bed she asked me how I got the scar above my lip.
When I was in high school (i think) I leaned down to give my little brother Spencer a kiss. He was a real big hugger and kisser and always did before I left the house. I can remember exactly where I was in our house in the hallway between the kitchen and family room. He leaned back to give me a kiss and he came with such force that his teeth went through my upper lip and it left the little white scar above my upper lip.
I have been asked 100 times if not more how I got that scar above my lip and I kind of like that I get to say it was from one of my brother's kisses. And over the years I think half the people I meet have some kind of scar above their lip - do you?
Spencer I love you and thanks for the scar!
*** and thank goodness I waxed my upper lip last week so I didn't have to do it tonight for the photo.

What a crazy way to get that scar!
I have a scar in the middle of my forehead but not from kisses!
Your bro & my son share a birthday!
Happy birthday Spencer!
You have such a cool family. I was lucky enough to see 2 of your fun and very entertaining brothers just a little while ago. Love the birthday post.
Lip scars are pretty common. Jemma's got a great one.
How sweet!
And waxing the upper lip is almost as painful as giving birth! (for me it is)
I've got one too. It's straight and I have NO idea how it got there. Probably one of my many car accidents.
That's the best scar story ever!
oh i bet you love the look on peoples faces!! cool scar story. i always ask people about their scars my husband is horrified everytime i do...he thinks its too personal. i can think of a LOT more personal things than THAT!
oh wow!! he means it when he kisses! :)
i have a scar on my cheek (merry-go-round incident) and one in the middle of my forehead (spinning lazy boy chair incident) but none about my lips (yet)
i love to read your bday tributes...what a cool family you have.
I have a dent in my forehead that you can see when I smile. I rode my bike with rollerskates on and flipped over the handle bars into the curb. I was such a smart child!!!!!!
That is an interesting story about your brothers kisses! Kind of funny!
I have a scar on my wrist from my brother biting me! Maybe he was trying to kiss me....
None of my many scars have nice stories like that one. My all begin with a tragic story!
My husband got so upset when our daughter developed a chickenpox scar on her forehead. I don't think a scar from a kiss would be such a bad thing, though. That's so quaint (but I'm sure it was painful, poor you!).
I've got a scar on my bottom lip from playing 'window cleaners' on my bunk bed ladder. It's a corker.
I have a scar below my bottom lip and I've been asked 100's of times how I got it. My cousin was 6 (I was 1) and she was throwing me to the moon and instead I ended up on the coffee table with a split lip.
Yours is much daintier, therefore much cuter, ha. Love your tribute to Spencer. I always loved that name because of Spencer W Kimball.
I honestly dont remember that at all!
I do remember the permanent bump on the side of my head when I was loveingly teasing Kristis feet in the back of the van and she LOVINGLY kicked my head into the window and made it spider crack!
Yeah good times had for all...
That is so cute! You have great lips, Kristi.
