Good mail, going, going.... GONE!

Would one believe that I have NEVER gone back and read my own blog like a book? I have gone back to look for certain posts but never just sat down what I did in February of 2006. I wonder if I did if I would find the months, in my few years of blogging, where I spent most of them flat as a pancake. Probably not since I never write about it. So, in case I ever go back to read this, right now I am flat as a pancake. I am down for the count. There are times when I don't feel fibromyalgia, which lucky for me is most of my year. But there are times I do. Right now I do. I don't feel like leaving the house. I don't feel like blogging. Talking on the phone, definitely not answering the phone. Life can not just stop for me but it does slow down a bit. If I go back and read this next year during this time I can remember, yes you have felt like this before and yes, you will feel better again.
ok now to some fun stuff.
(sampling of the cards I passed out)
I got a new visiting teaching route and I am beyond excited. Me and one of the oldest gals in the ward are partners. We also teach an older crowd which is good, because I need all the wisdom i can get. So Tuesday was one of my gals birthday. There is a good chance that in her situation she may not have received on piece of birthday mail. So I went to Sam's Club (Costco also has these from time to time)
and bought the sampler box of cards. They are really quite awesome. For $14.00 I came home with a loot of cards.
I used 11 of the birthday cards and put Happy Birthday stamps on all of them. (note more postage was added as these are $.39 stamps)

then made some fun and bright labels with her name and address and put them on the envelopes. I then wrote up a little letter and paper clipped it to each stamped envelope and card.

On Tuesday, March 4th, is Susie Sweetheart's birthday.

Take a minute to write her a birthday wish. Feel free to share with her your favorite scripture, quote or something special that you love about her.

If you don't know her than it will be even more exciting for her to get a birthday card from you.

Don’t forget to put it in the mail by tomorrow so she will get it on Tuesday.

Thanks.

I then passed them out to different people at church, including one to the young women's to have them all sign it. So her mailbox would be filled for her birthday. Oh I am so excited to say to her on Sunday, "So did you get anything fun for your birthday?"

This was my outgoing mail today and it felt so good to get this all out.(about 30 total) I am finally getting on top of my birthday thank yous and actually had cards printed to explain my tardiness. I will post them after they have a few days to disperse. In my library books on the art of the handwritten note it advised against making up excuses for why your thank you is late and just say thank you. I also sent out a box of waffles and Golden grahams (full of ribbon) along with a large envelope that is on it's third good mailing and has notes all over the back that my husband made one night about one of his patients- i hope the recipient does not mind and may keep the envelope going.

I also took some photos of the girls world these days.

today the dog got a bath
and the new paw licking kitty cat guarded the store where nothing was being sold.

I love it that you sent all those cards to different women in the ward so that they'll arrive on that woman's birthday. What a genius-idea for a gift! How blessed she is to have you for her visiting teacher!

Your mailbox full of outgoing mail is such a happy sight to see, especially because I can see your good mail labels on them. I'm sure it was a HUGE job to get caught up on all your birthday thank you notes, but what a reward for you to fill your mailbox like that.

Also, I'm so sorry you are in pain and down for the count right now. I will pray for you. Take care my friend!

I just got assigned to an older member of our new ward as VT partners. We also teach all older members.

I have been depressed about it.

Thank you for helping me see it in a new light.

I LOVE your Happy Birthday Card idea. I will do this soon.

so sorry you feel so crappy - hopefully tomorrow will be a better day

what a great gift to give someone - the gift of good mail, birthday wishes, sweet notes from others. I think I will have to steal that one

and, I got my pendant from LilyLane that I won on your blog. I LOVE IT!! I have gotten SO many compliments. I posted about it - when you have a chance go check it out. Thanks!

That is such a great idea about the cards to have so many from church send out to your sister you VT! I am sure she had a great day because of it!

Thanks for the cute thank you card. I know it is hard to get everything done, especially when you've had such a rough time of it the last month with being sick. I think a note no matter how late is always appreciated! I'm sorry you are not feeling so great! I do hope now that hopefully the weather is starting to get warmer, that you will feel better too!

What an awesome idea for your visiting teaching sister's birthday! That will be so fun for her. I'm amazed at what you are still getting done while feeling the effects of the "f-word". Hope tomorrow is much better!

I am so sorry you are feeling bad right now. I hate that you go through that.

Your birthday card idea for your friend is brilliant. What a wonderful surprise for her!

Thank you again for the box full of ribbon. I freaked out a little when I saw the box. I thought I had accidentally sent your gifts to myself and they were just getting back to me. Then I saw your cute good mail label and knew it was really for me! Thank you so much.

I'm so glad that you did a post on good mail! I too did a "good mail" post last week and you were nice enough to leave me a comment. Since then, I've been wanting to send out some good mail to you but was not quite sure how to get your address. Kristi, I would love for you to e-mail me your address (chasins4@yahoo.com) so that I can send out a little good mail of my own!

I hope you will be feeling better soon!

When I was the Enrichment counselor in my ward, I really got to know the older sisters (we did a daytime Enrichment just for them), and I absolutely fell in love with them. They are so often forgotten, and so it made me delightedly teary to see your cards. I'm sure that will be the best birthday gift! I can't wait for you to find out how she liked it.

I'm sorry you are having a rough spell with your body. I hope it leaves you quickly!

1. I love the photos of the girls' world! Another blogger whom I love and admire does this same thing--of the dollhouse--and I love it. I think I may swipe this idea & copy because it's such a sweet little visual of our kids' youth.

2. Your birthday surprise for the little lady you VT is the SINGLE BEST VT idea I've EVER heard. Genius! Pure genius! Seriously. My compliments.

3. So sorry for the pain & pancake-flatness. I've been loving and reading your blog for a while now, yet had no idea you dealt with this condition. You're such a non-whiner, non-complainer and I really admire that.

I am so sorry you are down for the count. Physical limitations are so frustrating. I am glad you blogged about it to look back on.

Great birthday idea- your follow through with good ideas is always inspiring to me.

Love this VT idea. Can you imagine how she will feel to open up her mailbox on her birthday? It will be a day she will not soon forget. Kristi, do you not email all of your posts to yourself to keep a record of your blog? I have all of my posts printed sitting on my nightstand (pretty thick stack right now) waiting for some idea of when and how to arrange them. Any ideas idea gal??
