what is growing around here.

I finally got my window boxes planted. I had waited a bit since we didn't know where we would be living for the next two years until a few weeks ago (never out of town just needed to have a place to rent- yea for staying in our spot)
I got these awesome planters at Lowe's for only $5.97 each. They are hanging cones and all came fully planted. A few were half dead so they guy said he would give them to me for $2.00 each. It never hurts to ask if you can get a deal.

Here is a little before shot of my soon to be coming pink hydrangea's. Can't wait!
this vase is new in my home thanks to my friend Stacy and will hold my three favorite flowers
one of the hanging cones made it to my mailbox
this was one of my garage sale finds last weekend. It is a flower picking basket. I paid full price at $7.00 only because the rug I also bought from them they gave to me for $10 instead of $20. I would never have found it if my friend Stacy had not pointed it out. Thank goodness she had to fly home or she would have snatched it up first
yea for tomato plants growing bigger every day.
I also got this week of a think for my doolie hanging basket. Nothing ever survives in here so we will see how this guy does.

So will you photograph your garden items for a before and after this summer?

My growing seasons are opposite here in South FL. I will plant flowers after Labor Day and enjoy them until Mother's Day next year. My impatiens alwasy look nice for Christmas with all the decorations. It took me years to get used to the growning seasons here.
I do miss the arrival of spring flowers, which is one reason why I love to travel north in the spring.

Wow, that's such a great deal on those cone-shaped planters, especially with the flowers already in them. I haven't done any planting yet this year (which is highly unusual) and I'm not sure what to do. I have spent so much money on flowers the past couple of years and they didn't do well so now I'm feeling overwhelmed, poor and clueless. But I LOVE flowers. I need to figure something out before summer is over.

I love to take pictures of the various stages of growth in the yard though, I think it's great that you do this.

I love to take pictures of the garden, so in the midst of a gloomy winter I can remind myself that summer does in fact come...However, this year it is still cold and I'm waiting for it to be warm enough to go to the outdoor pool!

What a cheerful/colorful post for a Monday! Smile worthy for sure...

One of my favorite things to do is to walk through the local nursery shops --

That flower basket is something else...just delightful!

What a steal for the planted flower baskets!

Tomorrow I need to take some serious inventory of our garden. We've been away for a week and then leave again on Saturday and it needs some real tlc. We're crossing our fingers that our hydrangea blossom this year!
