A few weeks ago we made it to the Cherry Blossom Festival and it was wonderful. We were only 2 days behind peak
It is almost magical and I don't mind the crowds during this time because it always makes me so happy to see so many enjoying the monuments, no matter what their motive is to come.
I was feeling sick on this day and looked horrible but wanted to figure out a way to take a photo of me and the blossoms. I loved how this turned out shooting into the sun! I will keep this one forever of my time in D.C.
I took this photo for David and Lenessa (my brother and Sister in law) On their first trip to the Jefferson Memorial they were the only ones there! The only ones. This photo will help them appreciate the beauty of that moment even more!

President Obama gets to see the blossoms from a beautiful view!!!

Totally unrelated I am trying my hand at something I have always wanted to learn how to do. Paint! Here is my first attempt at doing Sally Jane. I have a lot to learn but it is so fun!!!

oh man i miss d.c. so much. i have got to get back there soon, i'm dying to take my kids to all the cool monuments and museums. my only problem is i can't decide if we should go in the spring time for the cherry blossoms or in the fall for the gorgeous leaves. so glad you get to enjoy both!

and cute cute cute little girl, i knew it was sally jane before i read it. great job.

My husband has performed at the Tidal Basin during Cherry Blossom festival. Those crowds are great if you're a performer and they're into you!

Is the smell as heavenly as it should be?

Sally Jane looks just like Sally Jane.

I didn't get out to see the cherry blossoms this year (other than running beside them). I'm really sad. Great pics!

We were just out your way to visit my parents for the first time! We flew out during the peak blossom time but everytime we considered going down to see them we were sidetracked by all the monuments or too tired from pushing a double stroller everywhere, then all the blossoms blew off. Oh well we had fun exploring the rest of DC. We have a list of things to do when we go back!
