i love wunder radio
This is one of my apps on my iphone. I can access any radio station in the country. I can choose talk radio, country stations, find a station in a certain city or state.
I went for a very slow walk this morning (i think i have a kidney stone that is slowing me down) and enjoyed listening to the country radio station in Denver. It was fun to hear the weather (will be in the 70s tomorrow) traffic report (I have seen Denver traffic so that kind of makes me laugh compared to what we have here) local advertisements etc.

Moving to Denver sure is on our mind a lot lately but more so is how much I do not like moving. Having to learn all new numbers, find doctors, hair dressers, dentists, be new in a church congregation (I could write 5 posts about my thoughts on this) find a house, schools, find my favorite noodles at the grocery store - then at the same time trying not to check out here too. I think one of my good qualities is being a good finisher when we move. I live in the moment up till the very end. The hard thing is when people start to check us out because they know we are moving. I totally get that, but it is still hard. Moving just flat out stinks, but Wunder Radio does not! It is a great app and also now for Blackberries as well.
do you have wonder radio on your phone?

What a cool app! Starting over with everything must be rather daunting, but exciting too. It's weird that I haven't had to do that much at all as an adult, but did it constantly as a kid.
Oh no, another kidney stone??
i'm so happy to hear about this app! i've been using i heart radio and i don't heart it so much! it's great sometimes, but often times out and had long stints of 'buffering'! thanks for the tip. i'm off to download it now!
No, not another kidney stone!!
I think I would have a hard time living in the moment until the end.
Krisit,
I so get the "people starting to check out" when they know you are moving. I hope it doesn't happen to you this time, and that your move prep and transition goes smoothly.
I don't have Wunder radio but I will be moving to Denver also! Hopefully we will be there by summer.
I've lived in the same place for 21years so am looking forward to the change, although it certainly will be sad. Exciting and sad all at the same time. I've noticed the "check out" thing too. I'm starting to check out. I need to be like you and live in the moment right up until the move.
No kidney stones!! Not allowed, no way. Sorry to hear about your not feeling up to par. I will look for this app. Hope to hear that you are feeling better soon.
I love moving for all those same reasons and it's a great way to declutter! We get rid of truck loads of stuff ever time we move and we move at least every 3 years since we are military. I love fresh starts. No one judges you for the mistakes you've made in the past- they don't know your past. You can be whoever you want! Finding your way around and discovering new places is a great adventure! I know you have taken the opportunity here in DC! Also a new ward means all new opportunity and amazing possibilities. It also means you might get put in the nursery the minute you arrive, but you never know- that's the fun of it!! Hee hee!
The part on checking you out way before you leave gets me too. Mostly I have lived around military post, so the ward is predominately military and they don't do that there, but some place do. This time we are in a ward that is doing it! Very depressing to be put on the backburner for 10 whole months!
Good luck!!
What a new app???? How could I miss this!!!! Sorry to hear about your pain, I hope its not a kidney stone.
Kidney stone AGAIN? Seriously!!? There is some concoction that you are suppose to drink - like a whole lemon in a whole glass of water daily to prevent that? Could be just a rumor...
I hear you.
This thought looms over my head as well as we are most likely moving sometime soon as well. Not official so I am not throwing this out there - but pretty certain.
I feel your pain and your angst!
Have you started to look at homes? I have a sister in law that LOVES her area...let me know if you want more info...
ps - cool app!
Moving does stink...but I'm so grateful on your behalf that Jeff has a good job waiting! Best part of moving!
