The best church Christmas party I didn't get to go to.

Last Saturday was our church Christmas party. Instead of trying to decorate 20 tables they had one family decorate one with a Christmas theme. They used plastic silverware and clear pates on top of the nice plates as to save for cleaning (brilliant)

Here are a few tables. Love that Shabby Chic!

great kids tables with paper table cloth and crayons!
free centerpiece with flocking a tree branch - darling huh?

festive polka dots
i was proud of my iphone camera for getting the windmill spinning

my kids wanted to sit here because I think they thought they were going to get the toys.
This was the centerpiece for a table. It was amazing. Gingerbread Nativity.

yes, look close. hand painted, 4 scenes and profiles of all the characters in the story.
yes. it was amazing!

I didn't have any plates so I just used my gold chargers and stamped silent night on the clothes pins to hold the napkin.my neighbor loaned me her nativity village to set up. It was great. My others neighbors tree loaned me its red berries.

I tied and angel ornament with a tree sprig on the back of each chair with burlap.

Sally Jane was sick and Jeff was out of town so I lasted at the party for about 5 minutes, but my little girls loved it!

Have you had your church Christmas party yet?

We don't have a church Christmas party but I sure like the idea! And I like that each family decorated a table...that seems so much more manageable.

Sorry you missed it!

I think using plastic cutlery and clear plates is a brilliant idea! Our Relief Society does a Harvest Dinner every November and has different women decorate the tables just like this, but they get stuck taking home lots of gross dishes, so I'm going to pass this little tip on.

Your table turned out so cute, I love the stamped clothes pin idea!

Our ward Christmas party is this Saturday night, but it's not a dinner.

These are absolutely gorgeous! I love what you did! The gingerbread nativity is such a fabulous idea!

Our Christmas party is this Saturday morning, a brunch, with a Little Town of Bethlehem room, where each child must pay a tax to enter just as when Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem. The tax in our case will be canned food items to be put in Christmas baskets for needy ward members. I think it will be really great!

Great job!! Love what you did. Our ward does this very thing every year, and it's adult only. It's always fun to see the tables people come up with.

I love how each table is different and reflects the style of the family that sponsored/decorated it. Very cool idea.

I've never seen such a large nativity village--wowzers.

The burlap was a stellar idea too.

We missed ours too because of "the sickness" My wa growing up did something similar for a valentine's dinner for just the adults and they used their wedding china. Your ward is out of control! They do things BIG! I'm sorry you didn't get to stay long.

K- this is why I shouldn't read your blog. I'm sitting here balling with homesickness. What a beautiful RS/YW Christmas program and I am in awe of the amazing table decorations for the party. Who painted the gingerbread one? Fabulous. Your hair is getting long. You look good. Loves and Merry Christmas. Elsh
