The deal of the century!

So we have piece mealed our entire house. Between Goodwill, Tina's Consignment and Craigslist I have furnished our entire house.
We had decided to save up to buy one great couch. A forever Sofa (if there is such a thing anymore)
We ordered the Kensington Upholstered Grand Sofa from Restoration Hardware which had a price tag of $3635.00. I know, I know you don't need to tell me it is a ton of money but it was exactly what I was looking for. My requirements were a stone colored sofa that did not look dark brown. Tufted back and at least 3 cushions.
So when we got here we confirmed that the 118" would fit in our front room. So we went in the store and made the purchase. Other than Jeff's $5000 thumb that was fixed from a skiing accident we have never dropped this kind of coin before. We were not feeling so great about the purchase even though we loved the sofa.
The lady when she was ringing us up said, "Smile, aren't you excited" We must have looked totally depressed spending all our savings on a couch.

Then 2 nights ago at midnight I decided to check Craigslist one more time to see if there was anything that would work. and voila! This listing came up.

*** Newly reupholstered
Country French sofa $150.00
No Pets or kids***

Yes. One Hundred and Fifty Dollars.
That is a savings of $3485.00

and I think it is perfect!
Yea I love being thrifty!and did you notice the pig in the back ground!

Score!!!! What a huge savings and great find, I'm so happy for you guys. I don't think I would have been able to function properly with such an expensive couch around...I wouldn't want anyone to touch it!

That is positively providential (as Anne Shirley would say). I must start shopping Craigslist, methinks.

Wow! You really do know how to find the deals! I'm shocked! SOmething like that on craigslist here would not be $150, it would be closer to the tune $1000-2000, because people here think that they can actually charge close to full price for things. It looks like a really nice couch! And I love the pig in the background!!

I agree with you...if a $150 sofa gets ruinted it's not nearly as bad as a $3000+ sofa. You'll enjoy it so much more!

Oh my goodness! What an amazing--and thrifty(even better) find!! The one from RH was beautiful, but it might have made me nervous. This one is just as gorgeous and such a STEAL. Enjoy!

Love seeing how you are making your new space a home. Everything is coming together nicely!
