part of my photo journaling I take photos of my library books that I check out. I have had some great ones laying around my house.
I have been on a Ben Franklin kick lately. Thanks to Amy H. who sent me a Ben Franklin book recently. this is a great kids book, it talks about all the things we still use today that were invented by Benjamin Franklin.
This is a great book in a series. Really Great. They also have many presidents if you are needing to do any research.
This book is wonderful. The Salvage Sisters. Really some great ideas and worth checking out and even worth buying.
This was one of the ideas in the book. taking old fabric and making outfits for the whole family. Kind of Sound of Music'ish. I am now on the hunt for some great old curtains for our Christmas card photo - i wonder if jeff will go for the homemade tie idea matching his kids dresses... outlook not so good.
This was also a great book about creating your own personal shrine. The idea of making a frame or shadowbox just all about you. I just may think about this.
Get out and use your library this summer! They have great reading programs for kids and adults.
lovely use of the term "sound of music-ish..."
ReplyDeletethink you can get your hands on that cool red scooter for your photo?!?
Great books.
ReplyDeleteSo many cool ideas...so little time.
This post reminded me about the pattern for making bow ties. If you will tell me the name of the book, I will see if our library has it.
Thanks!
Let me know what you find out about those "Stylish skirts"!
ReplyDeletechanel. that is the same book. i totally forgot about that.
ReplyDeleteandy. the stylish skirts book was kind of lame. i didn't like it. if you want to make some cook skirts. amy butler sells a pattern with three different styles that seems pretty great.
ReplyDeleteI love it that you take pictures of all the books you check out. It's such a great idea and so fun to see all your interests and your voracious appetite for learning.
ReplyDeleteChanel almost read my mind - I really think Jeff should do the 'bow tie' look this Christmas! Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteDoes he wear his ties with a Windsor Knot? He really should. It's the only way to tie a tie.
I love taking my kids to the library...its just been a while. With school and everything its been a little crazy...I'm so glad its summer. Maybe now we can go a little more often. You have motivated me! HA HA
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm Heather, BTW....nice to meet you! :) I love your blog. :)
I love reading through magazines and books and getting inspiration to fuel my creativity. Salvage sisters is so my style--Trash to treasure!! Love it.
ReplyDeleteOoooh...I've got to get to the library! It's been on my TO DO list for about 2 weeks. Now that Summer is officially here, it's time. What great finds!
ReplyDeleteso interesting.
ReplyDeletewe go to the library very often but i hardly ever get my own books. it is always the children section, unless i pop up to the travel books.
in fact i had almost *forgotten* that i could find such treasures for myself. silly, isn't it?
love that you take pics of your books.
Love the library - cool choices by you this last visit. I need to get out of the children's department more often.
ReplyDeleteMy lastest library love is inter-library loans for those difficult to find books. If my library doesn't have a book they can borrow it from a library in another city, and then lend it to me. Cool, eh?
Very cool books, Kristi. I love the idea of Sound of Music clothes for the whole family. Though I don't think Marc would go for the homemade tie either... definitely not a bow tie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your finds. what a great idea to take pictures of them!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy going to the library and finding great books. I signed up my daugther for the summer reading program and she just loves it!
I am going to have to see if our library has some of these finds!
Thanks for the list of books. We have been on a "Founding Fathers" kick in our house and so we ran over to the library and checked out the Now and Ben book. Very cute. Also have requested tranfer for the the other Benjamin Franklin book.
ReplyDeleteStill lovin' your blog...
~~Nik
I haven't been to the library in quite a while. I need to take my girls and go this summer. Guess that will have to wait a bit.
ReplyDeleteKristi - it's so hard to get caught up on your blog! We just got back into town and I promised myself no blogging for the duration of our Disneyland adventure. Loved the pics of DC, we are booked to head south for the fourth of july! So excited. Your blog about library books makes me hide my head - I haven't been to a library since we left Utah - very sad. I haven't been to a thrift store since we left Utah either. one state and two countries later, I should need to thrift and go to a library, it's been too long! Great post!
ReplyDeletethanks for the cowtales, what what! get yo cow tale on!
