ChaperoneI was so lucky to have a friend watch the little girls, so I could go with some fun 2nd graders to Mt. Vernon. Our family has a season pass and this was my 5th time in 7 months, so I felt a little excited to take the kids.
They all traveled on these really great busses with t.v.'s and bathrooms
I was in charge of 4 kids including Annie Kate and I had mapped out how we would spend our only two hours on the large 5 farm plantation. As soon as we got in I was on a mission with the kids to do as much as possible.
I took lots of photos of them, got in the mansion, saw the horse stables, played feather games, watched the virtual movie where it snows in the theater, went through the education center and made it in the nick of time to the gift shop so they could spend their money.

What a fun place to go for a field trip! So fun that you were able to share that experience with one of your littles!

It's so great that you could go do this with/for Annie Kate, and how fortunate that your friend could watch the other girls for you. Things like this are such great opportunities for both you as the mom and Annie Kate as the lucky daughter.

Carmen got AK's post card today, and I gave her a crash course about D.C. on your blog. Both my little girls have asked if they'll ever get to meet their post card pals.
