finally

My good friend Nicole taught me how to make rolls last Thanksgiving. I have tried for almost a year now to make them on my own. Every time I have tried something always goes wrong. Tonight I tried again. They were great and even looked good too.

Kristi - those look really good! My mom used to make home made rolls every year at Thanksgiving, but I've taken to buying rolls in the large bags at Cosco. Yours sound much better though. Way to go sticking to making the rolls a success!

They look so tasty! My mouth is watering!!! I have not had success with bread making, but a HUGE part of that is the lack of even trying. It's intimidating to me. But, to read you've tried several times, and then success is very inspiring!

They look awesome!!! Can you share the recipe? Always in the market for a good roll recipe. Glad that they turned out so well for you -- what a treat!

It seriously took me like 5 years to finally get my MIL recipe right. It was so frustrating each time we would smell the yummy bread then taste it to find out it wasn't just right.

Good for you for trying over and over again--practice makes perfect :)

Yum! They do look great. It makes me think of my Mom's Thanksgiving/Christmas rolls. I will have to try and make them this year for Thanksgiving.

Kristi, those rolls look fantastic!!
I would love to know the recipe. I would love to make some for Thanksgiving too, if Art and Lanice come for dinner. I just tried Sharon's banana bread recipe for an auction, and it is so good. I am in a baking mood as long as I have someplace to take the food so we don't eat it all.
Your a good cook, girl!

I need to learn how to make those at some point. We had those at our Enrichment last night and they were fabulous. It's a talent.

Wow those are gorgeous!
One year after we moved to Las Vegas~ my husband's first job out of college. I was so lonely & bored I made bread over & over until I got good at it. I was pregnant with my third child & gained an extra 10 lbs. WHICH I HAVE NEVER LOST! I swore off homemade bread forever- I can't resist it. I only make rolls once in a while for the same reason. I guess I am just weak~ but everything tastes better with homemade bread!

They look fabulous! I've never been able to figure out how to shape rolls that way.

Yum. I love bread but I am so scared of it. And only my grandmother actually ever made bread/rolls so now I may never get to know how to make them.

Yours look awesome.

You did do good, Kristi, because I assumed that picture was a stock photo from Google or smthg! They're your own?? Perfection!

It's to my shame that I've never made my own bread. I feel I haven't reached a particular 'mark' as a wife and mother yet, til I've made my own bread. Is that a bit mad?

Those look yummy! I've never even attempted to make bread. Maybe someday I'll try. I got my pink christmas envelope today. How fun! It was like Christmas already. Thank-you, Thank-you!! Also, My daughters' 2nd grade class studied frogs this week and thanks to your post I made the frog eye salad as a treat and took it in today. It was such a hit!

yuuuuuummmmmm! They look fabulous. I love homemade bread of all kinds but rarely make it. I just need to remember to do it! (and do it on a day when I'm home most of the day...) Way to go Kristi!

Those look great! Yeast breads can be tricky.

I got my thick pink envelope in the mail today- LOVE IT. You are amazing my dear.

I absolutely love homemade breads and rolls. For some reason yeast and bread dough have me frozen in the kitchen. I really need a friend like yours to teach me. My mom is amazing with them, she just loses patience with me. Imagine that, I should have gotten it by 32!

Hey Kristi! Those rolls look fab and learning to do this is on my "would like to learn" list. Sounds like you have had an adventurus summer. Hope you are all well.

I grew up thinking my mom made the best rolls, but then I found some rolls I liked better a few years ago. I made rolls every day for a week before I mastered them, but the quick repetition really helped because it was easy to remember what I did 'last time' and also to remember how they turned out since by the 5th day the rolls from the day before were still sitting on the counter because my family was SICK of rolls!
