1 fish, 2 fish, 3 fish and then back to 2 fish

Monday night for family home evening we bought each of the girls a fish to put in our new tank we got to hold Annie Kate's tadpole. Caroline picked a black spotted fish. Sally Jane picked yellow and Annie Kate picked the redish orangeish one.
the little girls love looking in the tank and watching them swim, until Caroline's stopped swimming and decided to just hang out on the bottom all day.
I probably should have had the girls leave when I picked it out with the spaghetti tongs, they didn't like it too much.
I turned the above photo to black and white to try to hide the ink artwork that Caroline had done all over Sally Jane's face that day.

Wow, fish! Now that is commitment. I love the picture of Sally Jane looking in the aquarium. What a darling little face. Good luck with the other fish.

We have been getting fish for Carter for about a year. Guppies. They are pretty hardy, but we have had to do a few 'fish tank refills.'

It is so hard to get a good picture of the fish tank. I wanted one with my kids, but I couldn't get it to work. Arg.

Spaghetti tongs, black and white photo! I think that is a classic photo and one to save forever. So sorry to hear about the fish. You might check the store you bought it from. Oftentimes if you purchase a fish and it expires within a few days you can get a new one for free.
We had a lovely large tank with lovely fish years ago until there was a little, tiny, slow leak and we went away for the weekend. Not good. Not good at all!

I agree, you need to tell the shop so they can check the tank. There might be many other sick fish in the same tank. You'd be potentially saving more than just fish - you could save many other mums from scooping out dead fish with tongs, and saving lots of other little SJs from pulling that sad face!!

I'm still trying to persuade my husband to let us have an aquarium.

what darling pictures! Too bad about the little fish, but it may have been worth it to get a shot like that...

oh that is a great picture! I would probably have the same look doing that.. we haven't had the best luck with fish.. or a dog.... maybe we aren't pet people!

Great pictures- sad that a fish had to die to get them, but as a heartless mother, I say worth it ;)

That is such a cute picture. It's way more dramatic black & white.
