My new Halloween tradition

This is pretty huge coming from someone who usually spends their Halloweens sewing, baking, wrapping gifts to be delivered with big bows and running around like a crazed woman trying to do too much. As Jeff said you don't even usually shower on this day.

I decided my new Halloween tradition will be spent stopping all the madness for a while and going for a run (weather permitting)
I did get up early and make an all orange lunch for Annie Kate, sew a trick or treat Indian pouch to hold the candy and sew a hem on Sally Jane's Cinderella dress - but then I got the girls dressed up and we went for a run.

Halloween beaded socks from Grammy and Super Girl's awesome boots!

Our neighborhood is amazing during Halloween. People do so much to make it fun and scary for the kids. We did a little Halloween spooky finding on our run. This is the huge ghost that hangs between two homes that goes over a secret path.
He is huge!
I love this house. they have real fabric curtains that hang on the porch.
This is the girls favorite. In our main street there is a Lawyers office that puts these 3 huge spiders all over their building. The kids love it!
a lot of the neighbors have these awesome huge rope spider webs - they are so cool

we also saw this spider on our journey - it was awesome an orange spider with black on white striped legs - on halloween!!!!

I even made a video. Keep in mind I totally know I can not sing - but when you are running all singing skills are allowed to fly out the window and the road welcomes all skill levels!!
enjoy!

This was fun to watch, Kristi! I am laughing that you are listening to that song! What I love is that you are running instead of running ragged on Halloween! Great, new tradition!
Stunning area to get out and enjoy the day!

Kristi,
I thought about you last night while trick or treating....we came upon one house that every year buys 2-3 huge 1 lb. candy bars tied with a ribbon around it, and they present these special bars to the trick or treater they thought had the best costumes of the night. They even take their picture! In the back of my mind, I thought I had heard of this idea before, but had forgotton about it, do you do this too? I was just so excited to be reminded of it because as the parent of two teenagers that are getting too old to go trick or treat it is a new way to keep trick or treating fun for them as the costume judge! You are funny! I love the video! Maybe you need to get some kind of attachment to hold your cell phone, etc so that you don't have to stop so much?

Love Supergirls boots!!

You're so cute, I loved the video. How were you filming that? You must have a third hand we don't know about.

I think this is a great, new tradition!

I forgot to comment on the spiders...ew! I don't even enjoy fake spiders, so that's a conflict for me with Halloween. I can't believe that orange and black spider is for real.

jill. i know when i watched it again i thought how did i film that. i have become pretty good with pushing the stroller with one hand.

liz - no kidding. i don't usually ever bring my cell phone as i never know where it is. i had it in my bum pocket and it flipped out.

this totally cracked me up! And it just makes me realize how big of a chicken I am because I would NEVER NEVER EVER film myself and actually put it somewhere that somebody else could see it!

It looks like you have a beautiful place to run!!

Hope you and the girls had a fabulous Halloween!!

You're utterly mad! That video is hilarious. Don't you get a cough, though, if you talk/sing while you're running? I always used to. But maybe that's just me.

That orange spider is too weird!

It is my dream to have my house look that cool someday. The scary ghosts and spiders are my favorite.

Hilarious. The question is how in the world did you video yourself?

i can't believe that funky spider!!!!

Your neighborhood decorations are awesome, and so is your new tradition. How many more holidays do you think can accomodate a running tradition?

The video almost has me convinced that I should be running. I want to love it, especially since you look like you're enjoying it so much, but I don't. Maybe if I had that scenery to look at I would.

you impress me with your running skills. i used to run ALL the time and when we moved this last year i just stopped, cold turkey. i loved the high i got from it and you would think that would motivate me to keep running. i'm going to have to check out that book you suggested, the non runners marathon one. you're inspiring!
