I have exciting news! You could win your very own Gingerwood home to decorate all year long. My husband grew up with a Gingerwood home and they have had it for over 20 years. It was one of his favorite traditions growing up as a kid (his parents came up with the idea and used to sell them) and now it is with our family.
The house is made of wood so you don't waste time trying to keep the walls up so you can do the fun stuff - which is decorating it! Then after the holiday you stick it in the sink and wash it all off.
This past year we decorated ours for Valentines, Mardi Gras and Halloween.

They have awesome holes so you can put lights inside (you do this before you ice it) and then it lights up all holiday season.
You can purchase them from Gingerwood and they even give you two options. Have it sent to you put together or if you want to save a few dollars they will do all the cutting and you can hammer a few nails in and it is put together for life.
This is the greatest tradition and so much fun to do. A Good Mail Gal and Pink Christmas Girlfriend, Chanel and her husband, have put together a site where you can order these one of a kind gift for your neighbors, friends and family.
So if you want to try to win one of these by Monday at noon, leave a comment tell me

{ What is your favorite kind of Candy}

One of my favorites is the orange circus peanuts - only when they are dry and stale. they are great to use when decorating the Gingerwood for Halloween.

if you have any questions about ordering email mysplendidchaos@yahoo.com and they will answer all your questions.
Our family is giving these away as gifts this year at the first of the month. Not only does it make a great Christmas gift but they can use it all year long! Order early!

My favorite candy...I love JAWBREAKERS. When I was a child, it was a treat to goto Farrell's Ice Cream Shoppe. It was fun to eat the ice cream, but beofre we would leave we stopped into their candy shoppe, which was a child's fantasy room. I always liked picking the giant jawbreakers. I would lick it for a while and then store it in the freezer for a while.
Now as an adult I don't get the gigantic spreckled jawbreakers, but every once and a while I come across a place that sells smaller jawbreakers and I can't help but to relive some of my childhood.

My favorite candy is Gummy Bears. But not just any gummy bears I like the ones from Germany! You can get them at walmart now in their candy section.

THe Haribo Goldie bears! Hands down the best you will find!!

I lived in Germany for four years as a little girl. THe very sweet German ladies used to hand me the gummy bears as I would shop with my Mom. THey loved pinching my cheeks and talking to me in German. Thanks for the giveaway. I have not thought about being in Germany in a long time. Its nice to have those memories!

My favorite candy is the Reese's Peanut butter eggs, the ones that are flat on one side and quite large! They only sell them at Easter time, but I noticed a close runner up the pumpkin at Halloween, and someone told me they sell trees at Christmas time. LOVE them!

my favorite candy is a good old hershey bar with almonds!!

this post reminds me of how i stumbled across "everything pink" the first time. you had left a comment at amy rue (lumplings) about her holiday house. i was intrigued enough to click over to your site, and it has literally changed my life in many ways.

thank you!

So, so awesome! I seriously love this idea and have since you brought it up long ago.

what a neat tradition to pass on...I want to order one but don't worry- if I win I will pass the one I win onto my sister so she can start this tradition with her girls, too!

My fave candy is so hard to narrow...I love dark chocolate, caramel, reese's, Peppermint patties, m&m's, milky way, kit kat...dang. peppermint bark at christmas is up there and reese's eggs, too. I will have to think, think, think to come up with a favorite.

ok, if i HAD to choose one and only one favorite candy that forever and ever would the only candy i could have it would be:

dark chocolate peanut m&m's

wow, that was difficult! :)

thanks for the awesome inspiration kristi and chanel.

I had never seen these - such a great idea!! My favorite candy is the Sweettarts Jelly Beans that you can only get at Easter time. When they come out I stock up and have to pace myself. I definitely like candy that 'bites back'!

Neccos. My dad is a dentist and didn't eat much candy, but he often had Neccos.

When I made my first gignerbread house from scratch, I found Neccos made perfect shingles!

If I could go to the candy store and pick out my favorite candy it would have to be those giant suckers. It reminds me so much of being a kid and that's what I think candy is always about. It's about good memories especially those from the childhood. What better way to feel like a kid then taking a like of a giant, rainbow colored sucker.

Super cool gingerbread house! I love decorating them, but mine always fall apart. I love the idea of using it year-round, too. Favorite candy: peanut m&m's. Especially in holiday colors. Who can resist?

Okay, so I'm a lurker on your blog most of the time...but that gingerbread house idea is so great I just had to put myself in the running! My favorite candy is Dove chocolates. Mmm, I could eat a whole bag of Promises in one sitting...they just melt in your mouth and before you know it, you've eaten the whole bag!

oh that is such a neat idea.. I have never heard of them.. very cool!

my favorite candy is sour patch kids.. I love to eat them at the movies..

I love Hot Tamales. I can not stop eating them once a box is open. The size of the box doesn't matter. We took a long road trip with a 5 lbs bag of hot tamales. Over the course of 3 days I ate them all. My tongue was swollen and I had burnt all my tastebuds off but I couldn't leave them alone. I rarely buy them for this very reason. Friends think it's lots of fun to give them to me - knowing the trama to my mouth that will follow.

I love "Dots" The chewy jelly kind you can always get in a theater. I love all the different flavors except I don't eat green ones. I also love this Gingerwood House. What a perfect idea!!

I absolutely love caramel candy and candy corn - so sad that Halloween is over!

Anne said...

I can't narrow it down to just one. I love Kit Kats (especially the mint ones you can only get at Christmas), Snickers (the fun size ones have the perfect ratio of chocolate, caramel, peanuts and nougat), Swedish Fish (the smaller ones), Peanut M&M's, my guilty pleasure, the candy coated marshmallow eggs at Easter...the list goes on and on!

I love this idea. Our family loves to make and decorate gingerbread or graham crackers houses but someone usually ends up in tears when their house falls.

I also love the idea of giving these as gifts. It's the gift that keeps giving because you can use it over and over.

As far as my favorite candy...I like a lot but I have to go with anything that has marshmellow in it. Peeps, chocolate covered marshmellow candies, etc. I love marshmellow!

Skittles!!!! I LOVE them!!! My family NEEDS a house frame like this. We made graham cracker haunted house ones last Monday... Tuesday night, my dog, go on the counter and ate both little houses! My poor kids when they came down Halloween morning. I NEED something made of wood!

What a fun idea! These make much more sense then actual gingerbread houses!

My favorite candy is Cadbury's eggs ... the little candy-coated ones and the chocolate ones with the candy "yolk" & "white" inside!

Elisa said...

One favorite....just one...that is tough. I am a fan of all things chocolate but not so excited about sugar sweets like, gummies gum suckers and hard candy.

I guess more than anything else, I love a good high quality chocolate bar. Anything can be in it, but it has to be GOOD SMOOTH rich DARK chocolate (although I can do milk chocolate too). Thats my favorite treat but to be honest I could eat my way through a bag of your standard Hershy's too

Liz said...

Seriously, I would love to win a handmade gingerwood house made by Eric Palmer the woodcrafting extraordinaire!!

My absolute favorite candy is Reese's peanut butter cups. You just can't stop me from eating them!! I can't buy them for Halloween candy or I will eat them! Bad for me, bad for the check book and bad for the trick or treaters!!

What a fabulous idea. My son loves to decorate gingerbread houses and I've been buying them at $15.00 a pop for each holiday! My favorite candy is lemonheads. I know most people hate them but I loved getting them at the movies as a child.

Jamie said...

Hmmmmm, tough question- How could I possibly narrow it down to one thing, I love it all! In fact I loved candy so much when I was little I declared CANDY to be my middle name (since I don't have one).

I'm going to have to go with good ol' fashion CHOCOLATE, specifically DOVE chocolate! A girl NEEDS her chocolate! My secret chocolate stash is my go-to place for stress relief, comfort, celebration, and just your sugar tooth quick fix!
After all, chocolate comes in so many forms, you just can't go wrong! (I'm asking Santa for a chocolate fountain this Christmas....wouldn't a chocolate themed party be SO much fun!)

Kari said...

My favorite candy is licorice, especially red licorice. But I like all of it, including the black stuff.

When I was young my sister and I would go acrossed the street from our house and spend our allowance money on candy and sneak it into our paperbox so our Mom wouldn't know (or so we thought). Back then, my favorite was Jolly Ranchers the kind that was long, not the little ones.

Traci said...

My fave candy would have to Rolos!!! I love the mini ones they make, although I haven't found them lately. Also gummies!!! They are stretchy and squishy and just plain good.
I love the gingerwood house idea too! I may just have to steal your idea as giving them as gifts!! Such a great idea and tradition! Thanks for all your fun give-aways too!

My favorite candy has to be (hands down!) the Cadbury cream eggs that you only see at Easter. However -- I just saw some at Walgreens, pretending to be Christmas oranments! Bless those Cadbury people -- it' s a long time till Easter!

Heather said...

I have to pick just one? That is tough. Besides all candy that is chocolate, I love laffy taffy. Now they are mini sizes, but I used to love to get the long cherry flavored one.

Anita K. said...

3 Musketeers and I am eating one right now. I would love to have one to decorate for the different seasons.

Thanks!

My favorite candy are Resses' Nutrageous candy bar. It is the best combo of peanuts, caramel, and chocolate. Oh yummy!

I love this idea. It always bugged me that Gingerbread houses would collapse. So, since we don't eat ours, we just hot glue the peices together! Then we add the pretty frosting on top and it looks perfect.

I am so excited for Christmas! We started playing Christmas music the other day!! (Josh Groban's new Christmas Album is AMAZING...it totaly gets you in the Christmas spirit!)

This is a no-brainer...the Chocolate Covered Cinnamon Bears from the BYU Bookstore. Unfortunately that's the only place I've ever found them, so I have to beg anyone who goes to Utah to pick me up a pound or two!
mmmm...

My favorite candy would have to be Butterfinger. I know this sounds gross but I love the way that it sticks in my teeth and crunches. The crunchiness of the peanut butter mixed with chocolate is the best. And they are big candy bars so it takes a while to eat and I don't run out as fast.

Andy said...

Those circus peanuts remind me of my Grandma. She always had them in a little pot in her house. I have the pot now. The good news is that she's still living. So I get the memories while she's still around to talk about them with.

I'd have to say, my favorite candy is swedish fish! Maybe our house could have a pond?

Anonymous said...

This is a brilliant idea. I was telling Linc about it earlier this year and trying to see if we could make one!

Picking just one candy is hard. I mean what if I am in a chocolate mood rather than a fruity mood? Or I want chewy instead of crunchy??? I guess for chewy and fruity I am going with the small red Swedish Fish. For chocolate...gotta be the caramel Twix.

What a great Idea re-usable gingerbread houses. My favorite candy that I love is See's Candy....Yummy! and..Cadbury's Fruit and nut bar.....

Jill said...

I think this is a great business idea for Chanel and Eric to do, I hope it's a great success.

My favorite candy is a caramel Twix.

My favorite candy would have to be nerd. I am not sure what I find so appealing about them but from the time I was little I would always choose them as my treat anywhere we went.

Amanda :-) said...

We have German gingerbread houses over here, imported into all the shops. Is it just easier to import them here because we're closer?

A permanent structure sounds sensible though, and good to use for different occassions.

My favourite sweetie...ummm. Probably Parma Violets because they make your breath smell like you just ate a huge bunch of flowers!

Kristy said...

These are the best idea. I've wanted one ever since I first saw them on your blog. The thing is, you want me to pick just ONE favorite candy? Hmmm. I guess I would have to go with M&M's of all varieties.

michelle said...

I just love the Gingerwood houses -- I think it's a brilliant idea. My favorite candy is m&ms.

So you like circus peanuts, huh? My mom loves them, I can't stand them!

I am a strictly chocolate girl. I loved hunting around for fun candy to decorate houses with at Christmas though. It's fun to buy all those little bags of things you wouldn't normally buy.

Letty said...

Chocolate is what this girl Lives for...but only GOOD DARK chocolate. I have been known to eat Ghirardelli chocolate chips straight from my freezer...but I have a little stash of chocolate in my cupboard. One of my Favorite varieties is the Endangered species Dark Chocolate with Raspberries pieces. In fact I often think how skinny I would be if I didn't love chocolate and cheese so much!
Seriously I exercise entirely for the purpose of eating chocolate.

There was only one other time I got the total satisfaction I get from chocolate, from a different candy. It was about mile 23 of a marathon and a very kind woman gave me a handful of gummy bears. Seriously they were delicious ( I have not however, been able to duplicate the experience so they really can't qualify for the Favorite category!)

My favorite candy - I love them all but I just might have to choose Banana Laffy Taffy.

Kristi, I received the sweetest photo card from Claire and her family today. How thoughtful, with all they have going on!

Bek said...

I also LOVE circus peanuts but only when they are dry and stale... I have never met ANYONE who liked them...

My favorite candy would have to be Licorice Allsorts.... the real ones. It is the taste of my childhood...

I LOVE Ritter Sport candy bars!!!

I know we are supposed to pick just one but I love the coconut creme and the butter biscuit. I'm counting the "brand" as one because like you Kristy....who can choose just one of the scrumptous flavors??

I have wanted to make a gingerbread house forever, but can't ever find time to do the gingerbread part during the busy holiday season. I am bound and determined this holiday season to do more with my kids, like decorating gingerbread houses, instead of running around crazy doing stuff for everyone else. My favorite candy is either Ritter Sports- I grew up in Germany- or anything made by Cadbury- the best chocolate ever!

Wow...that is one "SMARITE" that came up with this idea. A reusable ginerbreak house that just "TAKES FIVE" to clean and use again!! I hope the inventor makes a "HUNDRED GRAND" this hoilday season!!!

Andes Mints. It was my mom's favorite. After eating out she would open her purse and slip one to me. "Just a little sweetness for after a meal" she would say. She even put them in the freezer and enjoyed them frozen. Yummy.

My favorite candy is Kraft Carmaels. I love them but don't get them too often b/c I tend to eat the whole bag at one time.

I love the gingerbread house idea! I might need to invest in these for my kids.

Anonymous said...

You know mine-----Candy Corn. Not just eaten the regular way however. You must bite the white part first, then the yellow bottom, and then lastly enjoy the orange middle. A true divine Halloween treat.

Melissa said...

My favorite kind of candy is Charm's Sweet and Sour Suckers. When I was a child I was very sick with ulcers and spasms, so I ended up in the hospital a couple of times for testing. My mom would always make sure that I had a bag of suckers to comfort me while I was there. Everytime I see one of the suckers, I think of how sweet and loving my parents are because the dentist bill was steep too! I very seldom find the suckers anymore, but when I do I buy all of them!

My favorite candy is anything sour. The more sour the better. I just can't pass up a good "pucker" every now and then. Shock tarts are great for that, but they leave my tounge raw if I eat an entire package.

I love the Gingerwood houses!

melissa's life said...

My favorit kind of candy is a
Ritter bar- milk chocolate with almonds. Oh, so good! The chocolate is like nothing that USA made chocolate tastes like. The Germans know what they are doing. I wish I had self control to only eat a square at a time, but it's impossible. I've tried and failed too many times. So when I buy a Ritter bar, I know I'm eating the whole thing.
