Here is just one reason why.
Today in Relief Society I was asked to read a quote out loud from the talk from Elder Bednar, "Clean Hands a Pure Heart"
I am sure you can see why I got a little choked up while reading it and even asked mid sentence, "did my husband give this to you to have me read"
Line upon Line
Some who hear or read this message may think the spiritual progress I am describing is not attainable in their lives. We may believe these truths apply to others but not to us.
We will not attain a state of perfection in this life, but we can and should press forward with faith in Christ along the strait and narrow path and make steady progress toward our eternal destiny. The Lord’s pattern for spiritual development is “line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little” (2 Nephi 28:30). Small, steady, incremental spiritual improvements are the steps the Lord would have us take. Preparing to walk guiltless before God is one of the primary purposes of mortality and the pursuit of a lifetime; it does not result from sporadic spurts of intense spiritual activity.
I witness that the Savior will strengthen and assist us to make sustained, paced progress. The example in the Book of Mormon of “many, exceedingly great many” (Alma 13:12) in the ancient Church who were pure and spotless before God is a source of encouragement and comfort to me. I suspect those members of the ancient Church were ordinary men and women just like you and me.
along with your word of the year, I have an awesome giveaway tomorrow!***

Hi Kristi--for your friend who wants to see Kelley's "best ever" haircut, go to my page and link to "up in bubbles" then scroll down a little bit. She took pictures of it for her mom. : )
Kristi - I too needed to hear this today. My word for the year is GENTLE and I need to apply it to how I treat myself almost more than others. This is a great talk to remember that it can happen...even little by little!
It's so wonderful when a quote from a lesson hits home so personally. Are you loving being in Relief Society again?
A quote is what helped me pick my word. It just jumped out at me.
Thanks for sharing that great quote. I love how it goes with your word of the year. I am loving having a word for the year. It's helping me accomplish so much.
I love it when that happens! Awesome how it fits so well with you and your word!
Wonderful. And so appropriate!
How great you read that quote in RS! I am just back there as well for the first time in years and really enjoying it.
