The girls got out early from school today so when we went to the movies I took it in the theater with me to read as much as I could before the lights went out. ( I have NEVER EVER taken a book with me to a movie - Dan Brown you bring out a new side in me)
I only have a few pages left and and must finish it before it gets dark or I will never sleep tonight.
I rented the Divinci Code this week and lasted 15 minutes through the movie before I had to turn it off because it was so disturbing for me. (Back to high school movies about proms, that about all I can handle) So I don't think I will read any of his other books - I fear I wouldn't last through this movie either if it comes out, but for the most part have enjoyed the book - what am I saying? I am hooked, I brought it to a movie with me! Sheesh.
Did this book freak anyone else out?
Divinci Code - am I the only one who was scared?

Haven't read or seen any of his books/movies but I have to admit I am a bit curious now because of your posts.
My latest reads have been The Hunger Games and Catching Fire - great books!
With all the Washington D.C. references I can see why you're hooked on this one.
I requested two copies from the library so when it comes in I won't have to share with Kalani.
Kristi: you are hysterical and you have me ROFL. I haven't read his latest book, but it is next on my list. I have enjoyed his other books, but they haven't scared me, which doesn't mean anything because I LOVE scary stories. XOXO Kimberly
I am with you on the DaVinci Code movie. It completely freaked me out and I also lasted about 15 minutes. I read the book when it first came out and I enjoyed it. Much better in print than in the cinema.
I haven't read this book and don't plan to, but we read The Da Vinci Code for book club a long time ago and I wasn't scared at all (or in the movie either). I'm trying to remember what could have been considered scary. I like suspenseful things, just not gory/evil stuff.
The movers arrive on Monday and we have soooooo much to do. I bought the book to read after we get settled in Ohio but Mark & I both started the first few pages and now we keep hiding from each other around the house sneaking in few more pages. So funny you are hooked. The last person I would expect!!! :)
I won't even watch the Da Vinci Code because the previews scare me! I chalk it up to having an active, creative imagination.
I didn't like the movie either but LOVED the book. Have read both of his earlier ones. You have convinced me to pick it for book club this month. I love that you had that link to the different sites in the book. Wouldn't it be fun to take a "book club girls trip" and explore everything from the book?
I wouldn't say it scared me as much as it made me a wee bit paranoid. Still, I couldn't put it down and finished in two days. I'd have finished in a day but, you know, I still have to be the mom. :)
Just today I bought Angels and Demons and will have to clean the house really, really well before parking my nose in it.
Haven't read this book or the other books for that matter. I think I would be too freaked out!
Love your photo of you reading! Too cute...
I love these photos!
DaVinci Code didn't scare me, but I don't scare easily.
I'll bet that book is so fun for you to read, being set in D.C. and all.
I did the same thing with the Da Vinci code movie. I think I lasted through 20 minutes. Yikes.
I'm a serious reader and generally take my book everywhere. It is either in the car, bookbag or if it will fit in my purse. I have read lots of places expecially when waiting. But, I'm sure i have never pulled it out to read in the movie! That cracks me up!
the books were better than the movies. except, i only liked da vinci code, and only for a kind of fluff read. you coud read it ok w/o being scared. the albino in the movie is do disturbing.
ok, and i just have to add, if da vinci code disturbed you, you should definitely NOT watch angels and demons. for one thing, it was just dumb, and for two, it was so disturbing. just trust me and don't go there.
I love all the books and movies. I am generally a scardy cat, but was unfazed by both movies and The Lost Symbol. I've watched the Da Vinci Code multiple times and love it. I guess it can be freaky, but it ia all in how much of it you want to believe. I just chalk it up to good fiction writing with historical context and leave it at that. When I think more about it, I freak myself out. I loved The Lost Symbol and am jealous that you live in D.C. and get to see all those places mentioned.
I just finished this book! Ack--very consuming. And I kept having nightmares about freakishly-huge, bald tatooed men. Ugh.
It was exciting, but I'm kinda glad I'm done.
DaVinci code wasn't scary for me, but Lost Symbol was TOTALLY CREEPY.
